Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American music producer and vocalist from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first EP, Pho in October 21st, 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014, she debuted new music through the internet including Bound. On July 21 2015 she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. In the following year, her songs were circulating among the Dreamville team because J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some of the references for Rihanna. On December 8that she was signed with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. She dropped Pho, her debut album on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and performed as an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest on two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video followed by a music video in September. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 two new singles titled"No One and Pedigree. They then collaborated in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26 2019 for her debut album of the same title. The music video debuted on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within a week, it was viewed more than 3,000,000 times. She was an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
